ANDAMAN AND NICOBAR ISLANDS – BAY OF BENGAL

Also known as the Emerald Islands are an archipelago of 572 islands adrift in the Bay of Bengal . since prehistoric times aboroginal tribes have lived here – the amazing linguistic and racial mix has resulted in a unique culture.The spectacular natural beauty of rain forested areas with silver sandy beaches ,clear waters , underwater coral reefs , marine life and water sports .

Foreign tourists require an entry permit to visit designated islands on day visits.

LAKSHADWEEP (Laccadive Islands )
located approximately 200 miles off the coast of India in the Arabian Sea. Bangaram Island is an uninhabited island open to tourists. Most of these islands have a lagoon enclosed by a coral reef on the western side . The climate is tropical with summer temperatures ranging from 35 C to 22 C and in winter from 32 C to 20 C.

The monsoon period is usually from 15 May to 15 September .

Access :by air from Cochin to Agatti and by boat from Agatti to Bangaram.
